“The Invisible War”

by Chip Ingram

published by Baker Books
"A Busy Woman’s Guide to Prayer”

by Cheri Fuller,

published by Integrity
If you talk too long about prayer, you will soon turn to the topic of what’s called “spiritual warfare,” which leads us to our next book:  “The Invisible War” by Chip Ingram, published by Baker Books.  The Bible makes it clear.  If you are a Christian, then you are part of an age old battle being waged.  Some people dismiss the devil as a cartoon in a red suit.  Others are overly interested in such things.  This book will use scripture and the author’s personal experience to lead you to the truth.  The subtitle is “What Every Believer Needs to Know About Satan, Demons, and Spiritual Warfare.”  The main title is, “The Invisible War” by Chip Ingram.
Let’s say you’re a busy woman, but you’re not a mother.  Well here’s a book just for you:  “A Busy Woman’s Guide to Prayer” by Cheri Fuller, published by Integrity.  Chapter one opens with a quote from Oswald Chambers who said, “The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from prayer…”  How does he do that?  By keeping us busy, says Chambers.  Does your lack of prayer then make you feel guilty?  Forget about that, and pick up a copy of this book, “A Busy Woman’s Guide to Prayer” by Cheri Fuller.

“The Promise of a Mother’s Prayers”

by Scharlotte Rich

published by NavPress
“The Busy Mom’s Guide to Prayer”

by Lisa Whelchel

published by Howard Publishing
This next book is also for mother’s, but it’s not necessarily a prayer guide.  It’s entitled:  “The Promise of a Mother’s Prayers” by Scharlotte Rich, published by NavPress.  This book uses First Corinthians 13, the “love chapter,” as a guideline for helping you grow your relationship both with God and with your children.  That’s “The Promise of a Mother’s Prayers” by Scharlotte Rich.

Next we look at another prayer guide, but this one is designed to be more of a workbook.  It’s called:  “The Busy Mom’s Guide to Prayer” by Lisa Whelchel, published by Howard Publishing.  This book is actually designed to be a prayer journal, with places for you to write your own prayer topics.  It also includes many Bible verses and pre-written prayers and “Prayer Prompts” especially for mothers.  Perfect for Mother’s Day, it’s “The Busy Mom’s Guide to Prayer” by Lisa Whelchel.

“365 Days of Power”

by Rick Renner

published by Harrison House
“Praying the Names of Jesus”

by Ann Spangler

published by Zondervan
If a 26 week program isn’t enough for you, well here’s one good for every day of the year!  It’s called:  “365 Days of Power” by Rick Renner, published by Harrison House.  This book provides a scripture each day, with a prayer written out for you as a pattern for your own prayers.  Something unique about this book is it also includes a confession each day, a truth for you to acknowledge and proclaim over your own life.  The book is called, “365 Days of Power” by Rick Renner.
I think it’s helpful to have a guide for your prayer times.  It provides a path to walk, so to speak, while you pray.  So we start with a 26 week daily guide entitled:  “Praying the Names of Jesus” by Ann Spangler, published by Zondervan. In the Bible, Jesus is called many things, such as the Lamb of God, the Alpha and Omega, the Light of the World, and the Good Shepherd.  This book uses those names, or titles, as a springboard into prayer.  It is sure to leave you with a greater appreciation of all that Jesus is and means in your life.  The book is “Praying the Names of Jesus” by Ann Spangler.
